Dr. Jairo Pedraza

What is making mexico city an up-and-coming fertility destination?

Dr Jairo Pedraza comes to Mexico from Colombia, and has since made it the place that he calls home! He tells us about what makes Mexico appealing from the heart of someone who really values the cultural and technological advancements surrounding him in Mexico City. Not only is Mexico becoming a fertility destination for the advanced technology or high quality of care, but also for the lower cost of treatment compared to their neighboring country.

Dr Jairo tells us that patients are often the most surprised about the cost of their treatment, and that it is lower than anticipated. The associated fees may be surprising, but it comes from the value of Fertilidad Integral’s holistic approach to medicine, because no one should need to worry about finances while they are trying to conceive. By making treatment more affordable, they aim to lower the stress that goes alongside fertility treatment, hopefully making it easier to enjoy the journey along the way.

The biggest myth that donors or intended parents may hear when thinking about taking their journey to Mexico is that lower cost means lower quality. Dr Jairo puts these tales to rest, and assures us that the fertility specialists are just as invested, just as passionate, and just as experienced, or better, as you would find anywhere else. Their compassion and heart are what drive these lower costs, and the results ultimately speak for themselves once we see it all come together and the intended parents finally have a baby in their arms.

an unforgettable cultural experience!

Another attractive feature about travelling to Mexico for your fertility care, Dr Jairo tells us, is the reduced waiting time before starting your treatments. You won’t be waiting through long queues just for your initial consultation, and he encourages everyone to enjoy the city and local culture during their treatment at Fertilidad! For the patients wanting to fully embrace the tourism side of “Fertility Tourism”, Mexico has lots in store, including museums, pyramids, La Casa Azul (The Blue House) of Frida Kahlo, and plenty of cultural programs will keep you busy in between appointments!

And that does not even begin to touch on the food! Anyone that has ever been to Mexico will always boast about the delicious cuisine they had while visiting. Whether you enjoy a restaurant meal or quick bite from a food cart, the authentic dining will leave a lasting impression that you will not forget.

Not only is the vibrant local culture memorable in and of itself, but it also sets an unforgettable venue for intended parents to meet their donor during their treatment cycle, and maybe even experience some tourist attractions together! Sharing experiences can help to lay the foundation for a solid friendship during this time of supporting each other to reach their dreams of family.

Dr Jairo also helps to put minds at ease by telling us about how safe Mexico City feels to travel through, and especially the area around the clinic. Fertilidad Integral can also help make recommendations for every step of your trip, including transportation and safe accommodation areas. For patients considering fertility care abroad, Dr. Jairo emphasizes the importance of carefully researching their clinic, understanding the treatment options available, and choosing a team they can trust. No matter where your journey takes you, Dr Jairo recommends connecting with a clinic that has experience with international patient care and third party reproduction, and can offer transparent pricing so that you know what to expect before travelling.

constantly advancing in technology

Mexico has numerous reproductive technologies available to intended parents from around the world. This includes treatments such as IVF, or egg freezing, services such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), egg donation, and Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT). What is very exciting, however, is that Mexico now has access to a total of four EmbryoScope+, two of which are at Fertilidad Integral Mexico City & Guadalajara. This allows your team at FI to very closely monitor the development of your embryos, and to determine which embryo has the highest chance of successfully implanting into a uterus.

Whether you are an intended parent considering where in the world your fertility journey will take you, or a donor wondering what donation abroad could look like, Dr Jairo helps us to answer some of the most pressing questions about what fertility care in Mexico City is really like. Stay tuned for even more insights on Fertility Tourism and what draws patients to FI in Part 2 of our collaboration with Fertilidad Integral!
